IT Support Specialist The IT Support Technician is the main onsite point of contact for SHH staff with issues with hardware, software and network concerns. The Technicians installs, services, troubleshoots and repairs computers and related equipment, including software and assists with network functions, as requested. This position answers and responds to service/ help desk requests, and planned software, hardware and systems upgrades. The IT Support Technician exhibits strong troubleshooting, problem solving, and critical thinking skill in conducting these duties with professionalism and a high degree of customer service. Responsibilities: Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the concepts, techniques, and methods of installing, configuring, implementing and maintaining computers and peripherals, including tablets and smart devices. Installs and maintains operating systems, database systems, Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook, and other systems in use at SHH. Effectively diagnoses hardware, software and applications problems and implements resolutions in a timely manner. Explains procedures and instructions clearly in lay person's terms. Works independently to research information to solve problems, while keeping supervisor informed on important issues as needed. Facilitates employee onboarding efforts and account lifecycle tasks. Collaborate with Human Resources, hiring supervisors, and LITS partners to deliver technology orientation for new employees that enables effective access to and use of technology resources and appropriate access/entitlement removal at separation. Maintains current knowledge of issues in the field, keeping abreast of trends, standards and practices. Education Bachelor in Computer Science, preferred CompTia A, Network , Security Certificate or similar IT certifications Specialized knowledge Strong knowledge in Windows 7-10, Mac OS operating systems Microsoft Office 365 and on-premise Office issue remediation Windows Server 2008-2019, Active Directory Understanding of VMware AND/OR ms aZURE Understanding of VoIP Layer1 & 2 Networking skills, VPN configuration Experience/Expectations Two to five years previous technical experience Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to occasionally work evenings, overnight or weekends Ability to learn localized applications at a support and administrative level.
