A Physical Therapist Assistant is a licensed professional who implements care and interventions to improve patients' mobility. They provide exercise instruction, demonstrate empathy, and document treatment outcomes. They assist physical therapists in enhancing patients' physical abilities and well-being.
Description:
The Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for delivering quality care to help patients attain maximum functional level. The therapist needs to demonstrate knowledge in caring for orthopedic and neurological involved patients.
Physical therapist Assistant helps patient(s) accomplish treatment plan and accept therapeutic activities by administering manual physical exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities as well as applying assistive and supportive quality care. PTA will assess and interpreting evaluations and test results; determining physical therapy treatment plans in consultation by physician(s). PTA will document patient care services by charting in patient and department records in compliance with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions. Your duties will include:Follow Up visits home health orthopedic patientsContinues to meet eligibility requirements for home health servicesHelps patients in using supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens, giving normal growth and development information, and promoting wellness and health maintenance.Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, and adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.Maintains production objectives by noting current treatment trends and monitoring actual physical therapy services rendered to production objectives.Driving is a requirementQualifications:
Master's degree in physical therapy1 year of home health experience as a physical therapistCurrently licensed to practice as a physical therapist within the state of agency operation and compliant with accepted professional standards and practicesMust possess and maintain valid CPR certification while employed in a clinical roleMust be a licensed driver who can travel to all business locations
