Our wholesale clients include major department stores like Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, Lord & Taylor, and Dillard's, along with specialty retailers such as Amazon, and over 1,200 independent boutiques. POSITION SUMMARY

This is a part-time, in-office position, requiring 2 days a week, with an hourly rate of $45-$55. The role will be needed during the months of December, January, April, May, June, October, and November 2025. The start date is ASAP.

We are seeking a skilled part-time Mid-level to Senior Technical Designer with extensive knowledge of garment construction, specifically for the Women's apparel market. Expertise in fit is essential in the following areas: Cut & Sew Knits, Jackets, Woven Tops, Bottoms, and Dresses. Experience with Missy sizing and some familiarity with Plus sizing is preferred.

This role involves assisting with the production fit process from initial fitting to pre-production samples (PPs) and top-of-production (TOPs), providing clear and precise measurements for each fit based on the tech pack, and collaborating closely with our in-house Tech Designer and Design team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:Collaborate with the Tech Designer to create and review first production fit tech packs and technical garment specifications.Provide detailed, timely fit comments to factories in a timely manner.Manage all aspects of fittings, measurements, construction, technical issues, and product evaluations.Update tech packs to communicate pattern changes and corrections to factories.Serve as the primary point of contact for factories, addressing questions related to fit, specs, pattern, and construction.Maintain professional and timely daily email correspondence with overseas vendors.Ensure timely execution of fit comments to keep the fit process aligned with production and timeline goals, coordinating with the Production team on lead time priorities as needed.Issue grading guidelines to vendors following fit approval for both Missy and Plus sizes.Review pre-production samples (PPs) to ensure they meet approved fit and construction standards, providing feedback as necessary to complete the approval process and move into production.Communicate fit comments clearly to nominated factories.Track and manage workflow and workload efficiently.Thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate strong attention to detail.Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, or Pattern Making.Minimum 5-7 years of experience in the apparel industry, including patternmaking and construction, with a comprehensive understanding of the production process.Excellent organizational skills.Strong understanding of the manufacturing and product development processes.Expertise in patternmaking, sewing, and garment construction.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe Illustrator.
