RESIDENCY PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR

The Residency Program Administrator supports all activities related to departmental residency programs and departmental residency program leadership. Provides support to all surgery training programs as needed. Under direct supervision of the Director of Postgraduate Education, The Residency Program Administrator prepares and submits all information required and requested by the ACGME for annual evaluation of the program. Including but not limited to the annual program updates to the Annual Data System (ADS) (case logs, milestone reporting, program characteristics, scholarly activity of residents/core faculty, board pass rates, evaluation and duty hour information, resident and faculty roster) and ensures that the information submitted is accurate and complete.
Responsibilities include but not limited to -
Maintains communication with all appropriate campus offices and affiliated hospitals.
Provides guidance to junior residency administrative staff by cross training and sharing residency workloads.
Meets regularly with the Director of Postgraduate Education to keep him/her apprised of important issues related to the program and trainees.
Provides verification of residency education for all residents, including those who leave the program prior to completion.
Coordinates all aspects of the residency recruitment and selection process for the surgery residency program (ERAS), informs applicants of acceptance for interviews, arranges faculty interviews, tours, meals, reception, preparation of information packets and any other activities planned for the candidates.
Develops all materials used by the faculty during the interview of candidates.
Ensure compliance with departmental policies and procedures for residency/fellowship program requirements outlined by the Residency Review Committee (RRC)
Requirements
Associates Degree in Healthcare Administration or similar field
Three years work experience highly preferred
One to two years' experience in residency program coordination preferred
