Summary
The Courier/Driver picks-up and delivers documents, packages, U.S. mail and other items to all departments within the County of Chester Courthouse complex and all other county buildings. Essential Duties
Pick-up and drop-off mail at U.S. Post Office. Pick-up and deliver interoffice mail and printing to all county buildings. Record all certified mail and distribute to appropriate location. Assist both county mailrooms with the sorting, casing and delivery of interoffice mail and UPS packages. Check all bulk mailing and deliver to Post Office. Keep track of all USPS-POC account and notify Manager when funds are below a determined amount. Pick up payroll and expense vouchers to be inserted in envelopes. Coordinate and assist with scheduling vehicle maintenance. Assist in other General Service areas, as needed. Perform other duties, tasks, and special projects, as required. Qualifications/Preferred Skills, Knowledge & Experience
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Six months to one year of job-related experience and/or training. Ability to lift up to 80 pounds. Ability to work with others. Ability to take direction. Good time management skills. Ability to prioritize work. Ability to use common sense understanding to carry out written or verbal instructions. Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers. A valid driver's license is required. Preferred Skills, Knowledge & Experience: Good time management skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with the public. Flexibility (there are times when you will need to provide immediate service). Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to work alone and as part of a team. Additional Information
Relevant background checks, clearances, physicals, drug tests, and any other assessments or evaluations will be conducted after an offer of employment is given per County policy.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have:
Basic OutLook skills (Email and Calendar) Basic Internet skills (research purposes) Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and lift and carry items up to 80 pounds. Occasionally, employee will need to bend or twist at the waist. There are no special vision requirements listed for this position. Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment will vary by location from quiet to moderate. You will occasionally be exposed to extreme weather elements (e.g., heat, cold, snow, rain etc.). Other: This position requires professionalism. Confidentiality is crucial to this position (will be handling expense vouchers and payroll). Twice daily you will be required to make pick-ups of mail from all county buildings.
