About Houston-Galveston Area Council
The Houston-Galveston Area Council is one of the largest regional planning commissions in the country with a diverse service area of 13 counties and more than7million people. We are the pulse of our region addressing issues that cross city limits and county lines every single day.
We make decisions that affect our early childhood education system, ensure parents are educated about the availability of quality childcare, enhance children's early learning, support early learning programs working to improve the quality of childcare services and so much more. We work to make the region a great place to live, work, and thrive.
What will I bedoing?
ü Assist with the planning and development of new and existing large-scale projects
ü Manage multiple projects, including those overseeing the team management for direct child care services including financial aid eligibility
ü Develop action plans to streamline processes and achieve expected outcomes in a timely manner
ü Ensure programs and services are delivered in accordance with the Workforce Board's directive and compliant with all federal, state and local laws and regulations
ü Supervise diverse team of individuals
ü Strategically adjust work load amongst team members
ü Effectively communicate unit and project status
KeyQualifications
ü Experienced in Project Management Principles and proven ability to handle large-scale projects from inception to completion, and anywhere in between
ü Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
ü Ability to effectively handle multiple competing deadlines
ü Skill in allocating scarce resources, including human capital
ü Effective leadership, motivation, and teamwork skills
ü Problem solving capabilities
Do you have...
ü Bachelor's degree in an applicable academic discipline orrelatedfield of study
ü 5years of experienceworking with local government, nonprofit programs, school or in job related duties
Preferred Qualifications
ü Bachelor's degree in education, educational leadership, early education government, policy, or law
ü 7 years of experience working with local government, nonprofit programs, schools, early childhood education, or in job related duties with at least three years in a managerial capacity
