Position Overview:
As a Marketing & Communications Intern, you will assist in creating, developing, and executing marketing and communication initiatives aimed at promoting the El Paso Chihuahuas brand. You will gain hands-on experience in social media management, marketing, public relations, content creation, and event planning efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
We consider this role a learning experience. In this role you will receive a stipend of up to $750 a month for all living expenses, and further will be paid on an hourly basis at $10.00 for any and all games or events in which you are scheduled.

Job Questions:
As a Marketing & Communications Intern, you will assist in creating, developing, and executing marketing and communication initiatives aimed at promoting the El Paso Chihuahuas brand. You will gain hands-on experience in social media management, marketing, public relations, content creation, and event planning efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating engaging content for social media platforms to promote team events, players, games, and community initiatives.
- Support the Sr. Director in the development of marketing campaigns, including email newsletters, digital ads, and fan engagement strategies.
- Help manage the Chihuahuas' website content, ensuring up-to-date information on promotions, events, and news.
- Assist in creating marketing ads for gameday videoboard, concourse board, and ribbon boards for upcoming games and promotions.
- Assist in drafting press releases and other external communications.
- Help capture content of gameday promotions, including pre-game ceremonies, on-field activities, and fan contests.
- Assists in communicating and promoting the organization to local, regional, and national media.
- Assist in monitoring media coverage and compiling reports on key communication metrics.
- Works with Sr. Director to collect, process, and distribute media credentials for all events.
- Assists in the preparation and execution of organizational press conferences.
- Assists with organizing and creation of the photographer shot list and content.
- Collaborate with the Community Outreach team to support charitable events and initiatives.
- Provide general office and game day support to the Marketing & Communications department as needed.
- This is a full-time and in-person internship that begins in February 2025. To qualify, the applicant must have recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Sports Management, or a related field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized and extremely detail-oriented skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with social media platforms, Adobe Create Suite products, and experience with content creation.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and game days.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required.
