Job Overview
The Corporate Controller will play a critical role in overseeing all accounting activities across the company. This position is responsible for managing financial reporting, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, tax compliance, and the annual budgeting process. The Corporate Controller will also collaborate closely with the CFO to drive financial strategy, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and support the company's growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and tax compliance.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely reporting.
- Collaborate with the CFO on financial planning, analysis, and forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Develop and enforce internal controls to protect company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Manage external audits and coordinate with auditors to provide necessary documentation and responses.
- Support the budgeting process, including preparation, monitoring, and reporting of variances.
- Drive process improvements to streamline accounting procedures and increase efficiency.
- Mentor, develop, and manage the accounting team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Proficient in financial software and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills required.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in the manufacturing or construction industry is a plus.
