Production Manager - Weekends

For over 100 years, Maguire has been an industry leader in the fabrication, construction, and maintenance of water storage tanks and elevated water towers. The Production Manager will be responsible for maintaining the safe and efficient fabrication and paint shop operations through planning, communication, and execution of processes and systems.
Essential Functions:
Management Duties
Ensure adequate staffing levels for production needs. Ensure all production employees are meeting performance expectations. Coordinate weld tests. Perform all employee reviews and evaluations. Provide training for all new-hires and for current employees moving into new roles. Document personnel issues and communicate them with Human Resources and Director of Manufacturing. Fabrication
Prioritize and schedule material for all fabrication areas (paint & production) to ensure efficient and timely production and minimize downtime. Verify inventory is sufficient to complete jobs. Ensure production goals set forth from Production Planner are finished to completion and weekly goals are met. Prioritize and organize production flow to ensure timely delivery of materials to field crews so completion dates are met and transportation department resources are used efficiently. Lead weekly production meetings so all personnel are informed. Work closely with the Director of Manufacturing to stay informed of new developments. Confirm shop drawings and paint submittals and distribute as needed. Ensure proper use of all equipment. Ensure parts are documented and tracking reports are completed. Attend weekday shift meetings as to ensure smooth transition from weekend shift. Safety
Create and facilitate a safe work environment. Ensures shop safety standards are met by employees and visitors. Coordinate with Human Resources/Safety to ensure proper training is conducted. Resolve any safety inspection issues. Complete incident reports. Essential Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED. Minimum of three years of experience in production welding supervision. Experience operating a forklift, heavy equipment, and overhead cranes. Knowledge of fabrication process and techniques. Knowledge of welding techniques and materials. Proven experience in getting work done through others in and safe and efficient manner. Ability to read and interpret documents such as ASME Code, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to read and interpret bar-graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Utilize an ERP system and basic computer skills in MS Outlook, Excel and Word. The ideal candidate must be able to obtain a working knowledge of all job-specific operating procedures, be extremely quality-conscious and detail-oriented, accept responsibility and account for their own actions, work independently with minimal supervision, be able to build solid relationships with internal and external customers, be dependable and trustworthy, be self-motivated, and have basic computer skills.
Work Environment:
Must be able to weld components that are vertical, flat, or overhead. Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work. Must be able to work outside in both a hot and cold environment. Prolonged periods standing and walking. Adhere to Maguire Iron's PPE Policy and Safety Programs. Requires close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to work with ladders, catwalks and in confined spaces. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
