ATA Services, Inc. is currently seeking to hire a Refugee Health Database Administrator to work on a temporary assignment with the State of New Mexico Department of Health.

* $25.00 per hour with weekly pay* March 1, 2024 - June 28, 2024* Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm* Location: Santa Fe, NM

The Public Health Division (PHD) houses the Refugee Health Program, which is responsible for the provision of medical and behavioral health screening and referral services to eligible refugee clients, education of providers and the public, and tracking of service delivery and migration trends of clients. The IT Database Administrator will:

* Under direct supervision, configure, upgrade, administer, monitor, and maintain operationally efficient databases.* Complete annual cybersecurity and HIPAA training.* Support databases across multiple platforms.* Work independently or as a team member.* Maintain current knowledge of technology trends and their application in the marketplace.* Participate in the design, configuration, and implementation of new database environments, systems, and tools.* Coordinate and monitor usage of databases, including potential security issues/vulnerabilities, and assure the integrity of database.* Configure and support database management systems. Support one or more databases of low to medium complexity using entry-level database design and programming techniques, ensuring control, integrity and accessibility of the data.* Develop reports and presentations, as needed.

Requirements:

* A bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is often required. Some employers may prefer candidates with a master's degree for senior positions.* Proficiency in database management systems (DBMS) such as Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.* Knowledge of database design principles, normalization, and data modeling.* Strong understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL) for querying and managing databases.* Experience with database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting.* Familiarity with database security best practices and techniques.* Ability to perform database backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures.* Good communication skills are essential for interacting with other team members, stakeholders, and end-users to understand their requirements and convey technical information effectively.* Database administrators should possess strong problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve database-related issues efficiently.* Given the critical nature of databases, attention to detail is crucial to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.* Collaboration with other IT professionals, such as system administrators, network engineers, and developers, is often necessary to ensure the smooth operation of database systems within an organization.* Maintaining thorough documentation of database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps is essential for knowledge sharing and future reference.
