12 hours, 7a-7p or 7p-7a.Travelers are expected to fill holes but managers will try to accommodate block scheduling as schedule allows.Open to weekenders if traveler would like to work every weekend but that is not required.Every other or 2 weekends per month is standard, could be higher to meet needs of department.Rotate in with regular staff for holiday coverage.Unit Specific Information
Unit: Med/Surg 6S General MedSurg# Beds: 32Nurse:Patient Ratios: typical ratio for all MedSurg units is 1:5 up to 1:6 at times, ratio would be adjusted down for higher acuity patientsNurses are required to titrate drips: heparin, could have an order for amio and that can be started and then patient would be transferred to cardiac unitCommon titratable &/or set rate drips: cardiac drips on 3south onlyTele/Monitor techs: Every unit has tele capability, patients are monitored on all units, central monitor station will communicate with RN, 3south tele unit also has central monitors at nurse's station and every patient is on teleCharge Nurse/House Supervisor: BothNurse managers are in house M-F business hours, starting at 3pm M-F and all weekend there is an adult house sup. charge takes light patient assignment, will take full load of patients if needed. An educator and manager for each unit.Nurse aids on unit/Ratios: all unitsRT Equipment: cpap bipap at night, RT to help, high flow on 2nUnit/Department specific orientation: first day, all paperwork and attestations, logins for Omnicel and Epic, show around unit (a few hours), discuss scheduling. 2 additional shifts with preceptor.Additional Details
No call or standby requirement.Floating Requirements: within skillset, all staff float between all MedSurg units. Higher acuity patients would be given to core staff.Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided: any color, needs to be solid color and professional.
