Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $1,865 per week

Certification Details BLS ACLS Job Details Large Level 1 hospital in Mississippi needs RN's for General MedSurg Unit. Must have solid experience as an RN - 1 or more years level 1 trauma experience PREFERRED or experience at a Very large medical center with a lot of surgeries/high acuity patients, must be comfortable with lines, chest tubes EPIC CHARTING experience is required. EPIC CHARTING experience is required. Must be flexible with holiday RTO. Manager will rotate coverage to ensure that everyone gets some time off if requested. Clinicians will generally be allowed either Christmas eve OR Christmas day and New Year's eve OR New Year's day. FINGERPRINT REQUIREMENT. Must work at least 3 of the following 6 dates: Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's Eve, New Year's; 12 HR DAYS. Schedule Information 12 hours, 7a-7p or 7p-7a. Travelers are expected to fill holes but managers will try to accommodate block scheduling as schedule allows. Open to weekenders if traveler would like to work every weekend but that is not required. Every other or 2 weekends per month is standard, could be higher to meet needs of department. Rotate in with regular staff for holiday coverage. Unit Specific Information Unit: Med/Surg 6S General MedSurg Beds: 32 Nurse:Patient Ratios: typical ratio for all MedSurg units is 1:5 up to 1:6 at times, ratio would be adjusted down for higher acuity patients Nurses are required to titrate drips: heparin, could have an order for amio and that can be started and then patient would be transferred to cardiac unit Common titratable &/or set rate drips: cardiac drips on 3south only Tele/Monitor techs: Every unit has tele capability, patients are monitored on all units, central monitor station will communicate with RN, 3south tele unit also has central monitors at nurse's station and every patient is on tele Charge Nurse/House Supervisor: Both Nurse managers are in house M-F business hours, starting at 3pm M-F and all weekend there is an adult house sup. charge takes light patient assignment, will take full load of patients if needed. An educator and manager for each unit. Nurse aids on unit/Ratios: all units RT Equipment: cpap bipap at night, RT to help, high flow on 2n Unit/Department specific orientation: first day, all paperwork and attestations, logins for Omnicel and Epic, show around unit (a few hours), discuss scheduling. 2 additional shifts with preceptor. Additional Details No call or standby requirement. Floating Requirements: within skillset, all staff float between all MedSurg units. Higher acuity patients would be given to core staff. Scrub Color/Dress Code/Scrubs provided: any color, needs to be solid color and professional.
