Summary: The employee is responsible for painting of equipment as assigned by the supervisor. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Including but not limited to the following: Washes, scrapes, and sands surfaces prior to painting. Cleans equipment, paint mixing area, and work area. Applies paints and surface preparatory materials as appropriate, and according to SDS ensuring compliance with hazardous materials guidelines. Operates spray equipment and other small power equipment. Works well with other team members to complete projects assigned in the allotted time. Inspects work for completeness and quality. Offers suggestions for improving the operation of the department. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, and application techniques common to the painting trade. Knowledge and skill in hazardous materials handling, application, and disposal. Skill in the preparation and application of paints and surface preparation materials to a wide variety of surfaces.
