TIESNA GA is based in Pendergrass, Georgia. This position is on-site at TACG 1700 Valentine industrial Parkway, Pendergrass GA 30567. Department Purpose: To effectively lead department associates to execute daily production operations and apply TPS, 5S, JIT, and other Lean Manufacturing methods under a continuous improvement (Kaizen) philosophy. The Production Engineering Department focuses on the study of design, manufacturing processes and management of products; as well as optimizing production to maintain safety, quality, and make the process efficient and economical. Position Purpose: Effectively plan and coordinate activities associated with equipment maintenance, tooling, and production engineering with other departments and functions. Supervise and develop individuals and foster a teamwork environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Evaluate manufacturing processes for cost effectiveness and feasibility, prior to and after engineering releases to manufacturing. Lead Kaizen (improvement) and cost reduction activities and projects. Coordinate all engineering releases and changes relative to routings, setting standards, data entry, and follow-up with quality control in mind to meet customer requirements. Utilize CAD software applications in the design and development of equipment and parts drawings, including 3-D imaging and motion for process simulation. Determine priorities with the Production Manager maintaining detailed documentation as required. Investigate, justify, purchase, and track company assets. Conduct layouts and supervision of all necessary construction of plant expansion or alterations, including the coordination of external contractors. Mentor junior level staff in leadership ideals and TICO practices by promoting and maintaining activities to develop and improve management and leadership skills. Maintain high employee morale, minimizing staff turnover, and promoting a positive teamwork environment. Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-cultural, team oriented environment. Computer skills: Proficient in MS Office programs, including the ability to conduct data analysis using Excel. Experience using CAD (computer aided design system). Works well with others in a team environment while maintaining a positive attitude. Must be able to work overtime as needed. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications, Education, Experience, & Abilities: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university 2 years of Toyota Industries Group experience at the senior level or 10years with relevant experience Knowledge of 3D CAD systems (AutoCAD/Inventor/CATIA etc.) Knowledge and capability of electrical and mechanical design Familiar with Microsoft Office, PLC (Keyence, etc.) Logic and Robot operation (IAI/Denso, etc.) Possess two-way communication skills among all levels of associates Possesses problem-solving skills Working experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience in SMT and PCB processes, is desirable Experience working and building relationships cross-culturally in a global enterprise, especially within Japanese culture.
