GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Under the supervision of Project Manager(s) - Field Service Technician is responsible for installing and upgrading equipment according to plan or schedule. Assigned to a contract at a top semiconductor manufacturer in Hillsboro, OR. This position requires both mechanical and electrical skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment requiring some direct supervision. Full training on installation will be provided. The Field Service Technician must follow designated training, installation procedures and safety guidelines established for work areas. This position requires the individual to be in a Clean Room environment wearing cleanroom clothing as per customer guidelines. Advancement Opportunities Must be willing to travel for training internationally right after starting so MUST have a current/valid passport. What’s a typical day as an Field Service Tech like? You will: Perform equipment installation and commissioning per established training guidelines, installment documentation and procedures documented in supporting documentation. Prepare paperwork as required, including: Mark and as required, complete commissioning check sheets. Provide feedback and improvement suggestions for documentation and coordination to discuss such improvements with Project Manager and other members Prepare a detailed daily task tracking sheet to report utilization, trouble points, improvement suggestions as per the Project Managers requirement. Demonstrate an ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics, independently. Load/install and analyze software and hardware per documented procedures. Communicate installation progress and take directions from Senior FSE’s to stay on schedule. Proactively communicate deviations from schedule and work with the FSE to get back on schedule. Provide constructive feedback as warranted. Communicate expectations, progress, problems, and troubleshooting, to co-workers daily and interact with customers regularly. This might be an outstanding fit if you: Must have a HS Diploma or GED 3-4years Mechanical background, equipment installation or tool maintenance experience preferred. Advanced computer skills- software and hardware uploads/installation experience preferred. Actively plan learning and skill improvement as part of an annual development planning process. Take responsibility for the plan and actively pursue personal improvement. Strong oral and written communications skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with management, engineering, peers, and office staff. Demonstrate proficient software skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint to communicate project status, troubleshooting, training, etc. Able to work under pressure of customer and FSE, changing demands. Must be able to complete and communicate task progress under tight time frames. Be available to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when required. Configure tools to specific customer demands. Ability to bend and flex in difficult to reach and/or narrow spaces for extended times while following ergonomic protocols.
