Position Summary: We are seeking a PE Registered Structural Engineer with tower design experience to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting detailed assessments of telecommunications towers to ensure compliance with FAA standards and industry requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience working on lattice telecommunication towers and a strong understanding of the TIA-222-H standard for tower design and assessment. General Duties and Responsibilities: Develop an in-depth knowledge of FAA and industry standard requirements, codes, and standards related to telecommunications tower assessments. Assist in the preparation of survey reports, including making recommendations based on information gathered during site surveys and professional judgment. Support the creation of tower condition reports, utilizing data gathered from site surveys conducted by field staff. Experience and Qualifications: PE Registered Structural Engineer from an ABET-accredited program, with at least 4 years of professional experience post-graduation. NCEES or other third-party validation of ABET equivalency may be acceptable if applicable. Strong experience with tower design and assessment, particularly related to lattice telecommunication towers. Familiarity with TIA-222-H Telecommunications Industry Association standards for tower design and safety. Ability to collaborate effectively with field technicians and other engineers to evaluate tower conditions and provide improvement recommendations. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: As part of the AGL-0026 UIS Tower Assessment work release, your daily duties will include: Collaboration with Field Staff: Work closely with field staff to ensure accurate data collection and comprehensive tower assessments. Review and Revise Reports: Review reports provided by field technicians, make necessary revisions, and provide engineering recommendations to improve the tower's safety and compliance. Weekly Team Meetings: Participate in regular team meetings to discuss ongoing projects, review progress, and address any challenges. FAA Compliance: Review field reports for potential errors, make necessary corrections, and prepare reports for FAA review. Address comments or feedback from the FAA and perform quality checks before finalizing reports. Final Engineering Sign-Off: As a PE , provide final sign-off on documents for submission, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and engineering standards. Skills and Attributes: Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and telecommunication tower safety standards . Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot potential issues in field reports. Strong communication skills for collaboration with both technical and non-technical team members. Ability to work both independently and within a team, managing multiple projects with varying deadlines. Ability to make sound engineering recommendations based on professional judgment and industry best practices.
