There is so much the Pikes Peak Region has to offer including beautiful mountain views, an abundance of recreational activities, good economic growth, top-rated schools, and lots of activities for families such as parks, museums, zoos, and more Position: JOINT EXERCISE AND WARGAME SPECIALIST, 0301, NH-03 Location: USSPACECOM/J7, Colorado Springs, CO Suspense: Applications from interested candidates are due by COB 27 November 2024 PCS Entitlements: May be offered Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Yes Telework: Situational Description of Position: Serves as a Joint Wargame Planner, space subject matter expert, and/or workgroup lead for the USSPACECOM Joint Wargames Branch in the Joint Warfighting Development Division. Position Duties/Responsibilities: Plans and executes events in support of USSPACECOM joint wargames following policies, procedures, instructions, and guidelines to meet mission objectives and learning outcomes. Advocates for and develops space vignettes and injects focusing on the space domain, space architecture and other space programs. The work shapes and inform policies, doctrine, strategies, at all levels of government, with a specific emphasis on the applying and integrating threat-based space domain principles, policies, and operations. Employs the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) to manage concept, development, planning, and execution of annual complex National-level wargames involving multiple CCMDs, Departments and agencies. Incumbent can serve as lead planner for USSPACECOM’s role in SHRIEVER Space Force Base WARGAME, NIMBLE TITAN, APOLLO VISTA, APOLLO PHOENIX, Globally Integrated Wargame, and other Combatant Command wargames. Key Skills & Abilities: Extensive knowledge of Space integration into multi-domain operations and the joint wargame environment. Comprehensive knowledge of the functions, goals, objectives, and work processes pertinent to conducting Combatant Command wargames and applying training system concepts to meet training objectives and reporting responsibilities. Knowledge of joint and USSPACECOM exercise, wargame and training principles and concepts, directives, practices, analytical methods and techniques, and skilled to resolve internal problems not susceptible to treatment by standard methods. Skilled in complex project management and the application of critical thinking skills necessary to address competing organizational requirements and parallel planning efforts. Skilled in identifying and evaluating complex issues and then gathering and analyzing data to develop process alternatives and/or formulate appropriate recommendations or solutions. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to skillfully negotiate complex issues at the highest levels of DoD, and maintain productive working relationships with Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, and inter-agency subject matter experts to represent and serve as spokesperson for USSPACECOM with senior level officials, General Officer/Flag Officers, Senior Executives, and contract personnel. Qualification Requirements: Experience at the next lower broadband/grade level (or equivalent) in performing Joint Force Development with concentration in exercises and wargames. Certifications (none) Conditions of Employment: Must be a U.S. Citizen Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance Position requires drug testing Travel away from the regular duty location may be required.
