There is so much the Pikes Peak Region has to offer including beautiful mountain views, an abundance of recreational activities, good economic growth, top-rated schools, and lots of activities for families such as parks, museums, zoos, and more Position: Senior Technical Advisor, NH-0301-04 (2 vacancies) Location: USSPACECOM, Colorado Springs, CO Suspense: Applications from interested candidates are due by COB 15 Dec 2024 PCS Entitlements: May be offered Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: May be offered Telework: Eligible, Situational Description of Position: Position is a Technical Advisor for Space Related programs and funding related to the following subject areas: Command and Control, Space Domain Awareness, Satellite Communication, Position Navigation and Timing, Orbital Warfare, Missile Warning, Missile Defense and/or Electronic Warfare. Position Duties/Responsibilities: Responsible for technical expertise related to space systems and/or functional area as it relates to program delivery, funding and accountability. Conducts gap assessments for program goals, plans, policies, and advocacy dealing with the development and operation of systems to include their capability functions and activities; participates in providing both technical and administrative direction to division members Maintains working relationships with required organizations across the space enterprise to conduct advocacy Conducts or directs activities or assists higher levels on challenging and innovative program development with only general guidance on policy, resources, and planning; develops solutions to highly complex problems requiring various disciplines Travels as necessary for job accomplishment and relationship building Key Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of key space systems to include: Command and Control, Space Domain Awareness, Satellite Communication, Position Navigation and Timing, Orbital Warfare, Missile Warning, Missile Defense and/or Electronic Warfare Understands contract management and execution in support of USSPACECOM goals related to the Division Use of complex automated systems such as CAMEO, Sparks and other system engineering tools, in addition to basic administration on Microsoft and Adobe tools Ability to brief senior leaders at all levels of the US government to achieve the end states directed by the CDR USSPACECOM; briefs regularly at conferences Assesses and provides strategic direction for resolution of mission-critical problems, policies, and procedures in an innovative, cost effective way. Qualification Requirements: Experience at the next lower broadband/grade level (or equivalent) in performing system analysis on space system operations and/or requirements processes. Education Requirements (Bachelor’s Degree) Certifications (none) Conditions of Employment: Must be a U.S. Citizen Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance Position requires drug testing Occasional travel away from the regular duty location may be required.
