Any location in North and South Carolina will be considered. Job is home based with company vehicle and requires traveling throughout the Carolinas daily with some overnights and occasional travel to surrounding states. Infinity Technical Services Division, Inc. (Infinity TSD) is an electrical power system service provider that specializes in managing the life cycle of industrial and commercial electrical distribution equipment, rated 208V through 38KV. Infinity TSD is currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Field Service Technician to join our team. As an Electrical Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing electrical startup, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical distribution equipment rated 208V through 38KV at our customers' facilities. This position requires a working knowledge of electrical distribution equipment from all manufacturers (Square D, GE, Siemens, Eaton, ABB, etc.), and familiarity with electrical power distribution systems. You must have at least five years of field electrical experience working for an electrical equipment OEM, NETA testing company, or similar experience. Experience terminating and splicing medium voltage cable is a plus. You will be required to travel in the Carolinas and surrounding states. Often you will be working during client maintenance outages and emergencies that may include evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays. The ability to respond to emergency calls off hours is also required. The successful candidate will have a professional, polite, and respectful customer service-oriented attitude. You must be able to manage and track travel expenses and complete expense reports with receipts and documentation monthly. Responsibilities: Perform electrical startup, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical distribution equipment rated 208V through 38KV including switchgear, circuit breakers, MCCs, transformers, etc. Knowledge of a wide variety of test equipment, testing techniques, and general knowledge of the NFPA 70B and NETA ATS/MTS requirements for maintenance of electrical equipment. Installation, and upgrade of electrical components such as circuit breakers, power monitoring hardware, instrument transformers, protective relays, energy reduction maintenance switches, etc. Respond to emergency calls off hours. Manage and track travel expenses and report with documentation monthly. Provide professional, polite, and respectful customer service at all times. Prepare professional customer test reports using PowerDB. Requirements: Possess a valid driver's license and ability to travel regionally. Ability to pass drug screening for employment and for ongoing customer requirements as needed. Ability to perform the requirements of a field-based Technician including managing a busy work schedule, arriving at customer sites prepared for work and on time. Lifting of bulky test equipment and job materials, ability to climb ladders, and work at heights on lifts or ladders, as well as occasional confined space work. Ability to work as a part of a crew or as an individual. Ability to follow all Infinity TSD and customer required safety procedures. At least five years of field service experience working for electrical equipment OEMs, electrical power testing companies, electrical contracting in an industrial environment, or equivalent electrical power system background. Strong knowledge of three phase electrical power distribution systems required. Experience terminating, splicing, and testing medium voltage cable preferred. Working knowledge of low and medium voltage switchgear, switchboards, MCCs, panelboards, circuit breakers, busway, starters, contactors, grounding systems, ground fault systems, protective relays. Working knowledge of power monitoring/metering hardware installation, including communication network wiring and troubleshooting. Familiarity with IoT hardware and communication protocols is helpful. Knowledge of circuit breaker primary and secondary testing preferred. Experience with cable testing including VLF, hipot, TANDELTA, and PD is preferred. Transformer oil sampling, power factor, TTR, WR, testing experience preferred. General mechanical repairs on electrical switchgear and circuit breakers is required. OSHA 30, NFPA70E, and electrical safety training helpful, but will be provided. Professional, polite, and respectful customer service-oriented attitude is required.
