Director - OSP Engineering & Construction North Carolina, USA Virtual Req 1891 Tuesday, November 19, 2024 Lumos is looking for a full-time Director of OSP Engineering & Construction If you are a Director of OSP Engineering & Construction who's excited for a fast-paced experience, ready to help us grow, and ready to recommend process changes that ensure we're harnessing our technology to the best of our ability while broadening our scope leading an OSP Engineering and Construction team. The Director will have end-to-end market responsibility for OSP infrastructure including Market Expansion, Success-Based projects and BAU work. You'll champion continuous process improvement and best practices implementation, while working closely with business stakeholders across the organization, to ensure that results align with the organization's strategic goals. This position requires a combination of strong leadership, business, technical, and communication skills, with a strong focus in OSP Engineering & Construction. Critical understanding of strategic planning concepts, principles, business processes and change management within telecommunications industry. Essential Functions Provides direction and leadership to the OSP Engineering & Construction teams within assigned markets Aligning with company vision establishing goals and objectives that create constant improvement Participate in requirements prioritization, vendor interface, and selection evaluation Reviews Engineering designs to ensure efficient and cost-effective build practices are applied Directs the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple large scale business projects Manage process workflow scopes and mitigate risks across organization Promote teamwork, process improvement and organizational collaboration Actively engage in client and third-party relationships by project demands and needs Assure that new projects are deployed according to standards while minimizing cost Improve productivity through active management, while fostering safe work practices and procedures Manage Capex/Opex budgets to align with market build plans and operational strategies Provide clear, streamlined, written and oral readouts as relates to milestones, status, risks, achievements, processes, methods, technologies and proposed solutions etc. Develop and maintain effective professional relationships with internal/external contacts and customers at all levels of organization Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering, Business Administration, Technical or credentials desired and/or equivalent experience. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience pertaining to the telecommunications industry desired OSP management experience required, including extensive experience in OSP Engineering and Construction Proven ability to successfully lead and track process improvement through closure Must have capability to comfortably interface and give presentations at all levels of the organization Key Competencies: OSP Engineering and technical experience desired Able to quickly identify capability gaps, identify plausible solutions, develop prototypes and implement new functionality based on business needs Strong communication skills with a high degree of accountability High degree of problem solving and decision-making ability Ability to collaborate successfully across the company at all levels of the organization Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, working well in a team environment Ability to create and meet timelines cognizant of business needs and constraints Highly self-motivated, driven work ethic, keen attention to detail Ability to collaboratively work directly with internal teams and external business partners Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment Physical Requirements Sedentary office work requires near-constant use of sight, speech, hearing, comprehension, and computer and peripheral equipment. Ability to travel moderately as the demands of the job require.
