This position requires a full-time onsite presence. The Sr. Engineer in Computer Vision and Machine Learning will join our Advanced Technologies team, contributing to the development and deployment of machine learning models to support navigation, instrumented implants/instruments, and wearable technologies. This role requires proficiency across the entire machine learning lifecycle, including data acquisition, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, and deployment. A key focus will be applying computer vision techniques specifically for robotic and navigation systems within the orthopedic industry. Key Responsibilities Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to advance machine learning applications in surgical navigation and wearable technologies. Drive model development across the machine learning lifecycle, encompassing: Definition & Data Preparation: Gather and prepare data, including acquisition and annotation. Feature Engineering & Model Training: Select and train models, ensuring performance aligns with project objectives. Performance Evaluation: Assess model robustness and reliability for deployment in real-world applications. Deployment & Monitoring: Oversee model integration, ongoing evaluation, and optimization post-deployment. Provide technical leadership in computer vision methodologies for robotic and navigation systems. Define system feasibility, focusing on data requirements and performance metrics. Develop prototype software and features, overseeing machine learning integration in project ecosystems. Current Opportunity The Advanced Technologies team has strengths in data science, statistical modeling, and hardware/software integration, with a developing expertise in machine learning for classification and convolution tasks. We are seeking an engineer with a strong background in state-of-the-art computer vision and machine learning to bridge this gap, enhancing our capabilities in these areas. Project Interaction Actively contribute to the development of computer vision-driven navigation systems for surgical applications. Lead engineering efforts for patient monitoring technologies based on wearable sensor data. Guide system requirements, ensuring machine learning solutions meet data and performance expectations. Own the full machine learning lifecycle, from prototype to deployment and ongoing optimization. Qualifications Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field with a focus on Machine Learning or Computer Vision. Proficient in programming (Python, C++, etc.) with experience in GPU-based computation (e.g., CUDA). Demonstrated experience in model development for computer vision applications, including experience with robotic arm and end effector tracking. Familiarity with statistical modeling, particularly in complex shape, function, and intensity modeling. Knowledge of orthopedic or medical device industry needs is a plus.
