Title: Sr. Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist Location: 100% Remote Duration: 12 Months Job Description: Promotes the utilization of technical services to resolve business issues within the enterprise, agency, program area, or division; Provides technical support on complex business intelligence projects and performs as a Subject Matter Expert in business or functional area; May participate in strategic planning processes for ODA's Data Visualization/Business Intelligence team; Assists with developing technical standards and policies to meet the needs of customers, peers, and management; Recommends and facilitates quality improvement efforts; May serve as a project leader providing guidance, advice, supervision and/or training to other analysts; Establishes and maintains strategic partnerships with data visualization-based agencies to help them meet their business and technical needs; Collaborates with Data Science/Public HealthGeographics, Data Engineering, Data Management, Data Surveillance, Outreach& Equity, and Data Governance teams within ODA; Participates in the Business Intelligence Center of Excellence steering committee as it relates to data governance and visualization best practices; Assists Data Visualization/Business Intelligence team with dashboard development as needed. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time Skills: Tableau, Power BI, SAS/R, Excel for data visualizations SAS/R, Python, etc. for data cleaning and automations Demonstrated experience with data manipulation, including cleansing, standardizing, and transforming; Specific and extensive knowledge of statistical software, open-source programming languages, and database querying; Experience in leading workshops or training sessions; Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities; Advanced knowledge of the application of software engineering process tools; Advanced knowledge of project management theories and practices and the ability to apply that knowledge Ability to use logic and critical thinking to address issues efficiently and effectively; Ability to understand the implications of new information for both current and future problemsolving and decision-making; Familiarity with using and interpreting data structures and relationships; Ability to understand how change management methodology aligns with and enhances project management and implementation; Effectively communicate both orally and in writing. Possess at minimum a bachelor's degree with 2 years of experience (related certifications, trainings, professional work and/or coursework)
