Perishables Business Development Manager (Air Freight)

We are currently looking for an experienced Business Development Manager who will work to improve the organization’s market position and achieve financial growth. Emphasis will be on the acquisition of new accounts, customers’s retention as well as business development planning and management. RESPONSIBILITIES: Identifying new sales opportunities and growth areas. Target accounts acquisition. Prospect for new accounts by telemarketing, direct mail, personal solicitation, networking, etc. Develop, maintain, and build positive customer relationships. Growth and retain existing accounts. Present to and consult with management on business trends and changing management conditions with a view to developing improved strategic tools to maximize efficiency an results. Maintaining detailed records and performing maintenance on all accounts to establish measurable indexes. Develops marketing tools such as rate and tariff books. Serves as liaison between customers and operational staff. Assists in overseas campaigns and overseas visitors' requirements. Negotiate rates for all HPL products. Prepares customers’ quotations, presentation of proposals, and all other required paperwork/information. Prepares sales reports as per company guidelines (i.e. weekly planner, sales calls record, and monthly prospect management report. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree (B.A) in business or related field from a four-year college or university preferred. Deep knowledge of perishable logistics. Minimum five years overall sales experience with a concentrated background in all freight forwarding areas. Deep knowledge of export procedures. Knowledge of cargo air freight industry. OTHER COMPETENCES AND SKILLS Self-motivated team player with demonstrated success in securing, maintaining and building sales. Excellent communication skills. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on various topics to customers, management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as freight rates, discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Strong negotiation skills. Strong decision-making and leadership skills. Strong work ethic with anger to succeed. Team player Completion of any industry related course is an asset.
