A global organization in medical device space is searching for an experienced Director of Legal and Compliance to join its international legal and compliance team. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated legal professional eager to drive impact through broad collaboration and direct support of global operations. Key Responsibilities The Director of Legal and Compliance will: Draft, negotiate, and oversee a wide range of commercial agreements, such as master service agreements, vendor contracts, consulting agreements, confidentiality agreements, data privacy and IT contracts, IP licenses, and distribution agreements. Assist in mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, integration planning, and legal advisory for various internal teams. Develop, implement, and refine policies, procedures, and SOPs to promote effective legal and compliance practices. Support the compliance function through policy development, training, and monitoring program effectiveness. Manage litigation matters and provide legal counsel on labor and employment issues, including employee agreements, policies, and dispute resolution. Oversee a global intellectual property portfolio that includes patents, trademarks, and trade secrets, ensuring robust IP management. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including executive teams, finance, and HR, to ensure legal alignment with company objectives. Stay informed on legal and regulatory developments, particularly within the medical devices industry, providing proactive advice to mitigate potential legal risks. Qualifications Juris Doctor degree from an accredited institution with admission to a bar in a relevant jurisdiction. At least 10 years of experience from a leading law firm or as in-house counsel. Proven expertise in corporate governance, contract law, and regulatory compliance, along with strong experience in drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements. Knowledge of global and regional privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PIPL), anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws (such as the FCPA and UK Bribery Act), antitrust issues, and trade compliance. Familiarity with intellectual property laws concerning patents, trademarks, and trade secrets. Strong understanding of labor and employment law; experience in labor-related legal support is a plus. Demonstrated analytical and research skills with the ability to clearly communicate complex legal matters to non-legal teams. Excellent organizational skills, with a keen eye for detail and a capacity to manage multiple deadlines.
