We are sourcing for one of our valued chemical plant clients for a role. JOB TITLE: PURCHASING MANAGER LOCATION: PASADENA, TEXAS FOCUS OF PURCHASING: MRO HOURS: MON - FRI 8-5 WITH OPTION FOR 9/80 SCHEDULE BENEFITS: FABULOUS 401-K MATCH SALARY: $91.5K - $98.7 DUTIES: Manage and Negotiate contracts/agreements for assigned commodities Identify areas of negotiations for improvement in pricing or terms Implement sourcing strategies to provide competitive advantage in the areas of: Maintenance Repair & Operating (MRO) goods and services. Analyze pricing structures and supplier proposals for competitiveness. Develop and maintain a pricing database for MRO supplies Purchase and negotiate all items necessary for MRO, Turn-Arounds, Uniforms, Landscaping, etc. Maintain records for purchase orders, vendor data, insurance, and Pre-Qualification Forms (PQFs). Assure all materials are ordered and received for daily plant functions and turn-arounds. Sourcing, negotiate and place orders for all necessary MRO including spare parts Identify potential suppliers and source new suppliers Evaluate bids with recommendations Monitor supplier cost and quality and delivery performance. Review and provide analysis of inventory turnover to maintain most cost efficient movement of materials with Suppliers. Create/Improve Supplier-Customer Relationship Manage supplier performance, including continuous improvement, innovations, obsolescence and reduction in total cost of ownership Collaborate with maintenance, operations, and finance teams to align procurement strategies with business objectives. Provide support and guidance to internal stakeholders regarding MRO purchasing needs. Utilize data analytics to identify trends for better informed purchasing decisions. Additional Responsibilities Work with Warehouse personnel in maintaining storeroom inventory for optimum cost efficiency and Supplier on time deliveries. Establish working relationship with all departments to aid in establishing more cost efficient and time savings of processing orders for goods and services as needed. Responsible for the effective implementation of the Quality Management System and Environmental Management System (as applicable to this position). ______________________________________________________________________________ Skills/Knowledge Required Experience in the purchasing field (5 Years in MRO) Experience from industry such as: Chemicals, Refinery, Construction Inventory Management Experience Proficient in excel.
