Join Shumaker, where the excitement of legal excellence intersects with an enjoyable and vibrant workplace As an attorney in our Corporate, Tax & Transactions Service Line, you will engage in sophisticated and challenging corporate transactional work for clients in South Carolina and nationwide. The ideal candidate must have a portable book of business with at least 7 years of experience in corporate law. The attorney will be responsible for representing corporations, LLCs and shareholders, and members in mergers and acquisitions, contracts, and general corporate transactional matters. In addition, they should be able to represent clients in all stages of acquisitions and sales transactions. Education, Experience and Skills Required : Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school Active South Carolina bar license 7 years’ professional corporate transactional law practice experience Strong technological skills, including proficiency with practice management systems and portals Superior research skills, including the use of online services and databases Project management skills, including the ability to successfully manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadline Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Ability to work independently and maintain a high degree of confidentiality Physical Requirements : Sitting position static for up to one-half hour at a time Lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to one hour per day Bending and stooping occasionally, up to one-half hour per day
