Biotage offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance as well as a 401k program w/ company match and more Role Overview: This role is responsible for ensuring capability to achieve Americas supply demand regionally while meeting the global Biotage group needs for US supplied products. Also responsible for supply flow and control of inventory, oversite of Charlotte warehouse operations and ensuring the status of all orders is up to date and available for internal and external customers. The Supply Chain Manager is also the primary liaison for vendor communications, pricing negotiations and relationship management. Tasks and Responsibilities: Supply Chain Develop and execute processes for inventory optimization and demand forecasting utilizing our MS Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations platform. Drive improvements to increase inventory turns to support manage working capital objectives. Using expert level MS Excel and Power BI capabilities, develop, report on and implement dynamic material planning tools to properly forecast and maintain effective, efficient inventory controls. Liaise with the commercial team to drive effective sales and operations planning in order to maximize revenue recognition while managing a controlled supply flow. Compile supply chain KPI reports including on-time delivery, dynamic demand, min/max review, warehouse cycle count accuracy and vendor performance. Work closely with Biotage supply chain organization in Sweden, UK and Japan to coordinate internal transfers/purchases between US and other distribution centers. Purchase and manage supply from third-party suppliers. Review and analyze bi-monthly sea-freight orders to maximize freight savings and assure smooth flow of supply. Work closely with various, global freight handling suppliers to achieve planned dates are achieved. Evaluate consumption forecasts and negotiate pricing with external suppliers. Management of Charlotte warehouse (CLT) total inventory value within established guidelines. Continually drive process improvements in Supply Chain operations and associated systems to optimize efficiency. Other duties as assigned Warehouse Management Support Support the Warehouse Supervisor to continually drive process improvements in warehouse operations, workflow, and procedures to minimize errors and optimize efficiency. Confirm that effective work instructions and documented and formalized exist for all key activities Research inventory deviations and other warehouse-based errors to take appropriate corrective actions. Other duties as assigned Skill Requirements/Education/Experience Required: Prior experience in materials management, purchasing and/or vendor management is required. Strong working knowledge of inventory software and order processing systems. Candidate must have demonstrated expertise utilizing MS Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations platform with the ability to extract, integrate and report data quickly. Requires ability to compile and analyze large volumes of data quickly; expert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory. Demonstrated proficiency utilizing UPS WorldShip/FedEx Ship Manager and other shipping systems. Proven expertise managing international sea and air freight and multiple freight forwarders Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communicational and organizational skills. Good interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate and influence individuals at all levels within an organization and based in various global locations. Ability to research inventory and order fulfillment issues and take necessary corrective actions. At least 7 years of experience working in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Requires prior experience working within a continuous improvement environment, Demonstrated successful leadership of process improvement initiatives a strong plus. Strong detail-orientation; ability to perform quality checks on the work of others. Highly adaptable to changes in the work environment and ability to drive results in a face-paced, international environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with individuals of all levels within an organization. Must have good presentation skills. Strong math aptitude with ability to calculate figures and amounts. High aptitude for learning products, processes and systems. Bachelors/advanced degree in Supply Chain/Logistics (or related discipline) or equivalent experience. Work Environment: Normal working environment is temperature controlled and well-lit While performing the duties of this job, the employee is infrequently exposed to cold or hot temperatures in the warehouse. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Travel Required: Minimal overnight travel anticipated. Potential for site visits to internal and external vendors. Occasional overnight travel of approximately 2-3 times per year for a full week or less duration. Some international travel possible.
