Locum Physician (MD/DO) - Gastroenterology in Mount Vernon, IL

A hospital with clinic is seeking a gastroenterologist for locum tenens coverage. In Mt. Vernon, Illinois, history comes to life at the Jefferson County Historical Village, where visitors can step back in time to explore restored buildings and learn about the region's past. Nature lovers can enjoy the beautiful scenery and recreational activities at Rend Lake, offering fishing, boating, and hiking opportunities. The role is Monday-Friday, requiring BC in Internal Medicine or Gastroenterology (or recent residency). It involves a mix of inpatient and outpatient work, with procedures during the day and inpatient consults in the afternoon. Office work is minimal, with four days focused on procedures and part of the fifth day for office coverage, consults, or procedures. Call includes weeknights and 24-hour weekends. Support includes an NP, MA, and advanced equipment (ERCP, Spyglass, EUS). Adult patients only.
