Computer Numerical Control Machinist

Produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine, knowledge of Haas vertical machining centers & controls is a plus; maintaining quality and safety standards; maintaining equipment. Duties: Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). Programs machine by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs. Ability to read and understand G code. Sets-up machine by installing and adjusting tools, attachments, collets, bushings, stops; indicating vices; tramming heads. Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to standards. Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. · Develop new CNC programs based on engineering drawings and models. · -Edit and convert existing programs for different machines. · -Experience machining a variety of metal alloys including aluminum, stainless steels, inconel, copper, etc. · -Must have an understanding of G-code and M-code. · -Proficient with GD&T · -Manual editing on the shop floor for program adjustments and optimization. · -Must have experience with Mastercam software · -Experience with Haas machines is a PLUS.
