Vice President of Manufacturing

VP of Manufacturing / Director of Manufacturing required to join a start up Defense manufacturer based in Austin, TX Package Negotiable depending on experience (Generous basic) Bonus Paid shares within the business Great overall package with benefits Responsibilities Develop and implement a scalable manufacturing strategy to drive operational excellence, efficiency, and innovation. Oversee production, quality assurance, supply chain, and facilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards Manage CAPEX and OPEX budgets, track KPIs, and drive cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high-quality standards. Lead cross-functional collaboration with engineering, supply chain, and program management for seamless product integration. Build and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement. Setting up LRIP and FRP Requirements Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field (Master’s preferred). 10 years of experience in manufacturing leadership, preferably in aerospace, defense, or industrial sectors. Experience in a similar position such as VP of Manufacturing / Director of Manufacturing Expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and managing large-scale budgets and operations. Strong knowledge of MRP/MES systems and industry certifications Proven track record of scaling operations, reducing costs, and delivering high-quality, on-time products. Experience at an Elon Musk company would be beneficial (Tesla, SpaceX, Boring Company or Neuralink) Commutable to Austin, TX
