General Job Summary: Supervises and directs all activities of manufacturing departments. Responsible for safety, quality, cost and schedule performance of direct reports. this is a 2nd shift position ( Four 10 hour days from 2:30pm - 1am, may require overtime hours) Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Adheres to all safety processes and procedures and insures they are followed by Associates Ensures quality and manufacturing processes are followed. (Manufacturing Process Control Document and Quality Assurance Plan). Assures adherence to all Company policies and procedures by direct reports. With SR Manufacturing Managers, assigns weekly/daily workload to ensure production requirements are met. Coaches, trains, and monitors Associates’ activities in operation of equipment and executing duties in manufacture of product. Assists in the resolution of production, quality, and maintenance problems as they occur Keeps Plant Manager informed of workload, production, quality and personnel issues. Recommends staffing changes to adjust for changes in workload. Assists SR Manufacturing Managers with annual performance reviews for all direct reports and recommends wage adjustments. Conducts regular meetings with Associates to review safety, quality, and productivity issues. Operates machinery as necessary to insure production completion. Ensures work areas are kept safe and clean. At times will need to be hands on to ensure production requirements are met. Supervisory Responsibilities: 8-14 Associates Individual must carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Education High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Associate degree (A.A.) or bachelor’s degree (B.A.) preferred Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. Experience with an ERP system a plus. Other Requirements: Ability to read and understand blueprints. Understanding and ability to use inspection gauges (verniers, micrometers, height stand, pins). Experience as an operator with fabrication equipment specific to area of responsibility. Strong leadership skills and demonstrated ability to promote and maintain a positive, customer focused work environment. Language Skills: High Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Mathematical Skills: Basic Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Very High Skills: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
