Formulator Scientist (Products Formulator). Dietary Supplements Coordinate with various areas and/or conduct the necessary research to work on the development of new formulations and reformulate tablets, capsules, and powders and scale up pilot projects to address problems or meet the needs of internal and external clients. Resolve production and operational problems related to product formulas and establish the necessary improvements to make manufacturing processes more efficient and effective. REPORTS TO: VP Facilities STAFF UNDER SUPERVISION: None Duties and Responsibilities of the Position: - Develop new products and enhance existing formulations by assessing raw materials, conducting stability studies, and performing compatibility tests. - Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of formulation procedures, including batch records, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality control logs. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as R&D, production, and quality assurance, to ensure the timely and successful launch of new products. - Analyze data thoroughly and provide management with recommendations to optimize formulations, processes, and equipment. - Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes related to formulation development, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and standards. - Operate and maintain development laboratory equipment and troubleshoot any technical issues that arise. - Contribute to ongoing production process improvement efforts aimed at increasing efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing product quality. - Resolve issues related with formulation in the production process. Specific Duties of the Position · Quotations: Make theoretical quotes by designing a product based on the technical knowledge of each format and with costs determined or obtained through the purchasing area. Scaling Up: Plan and execute scaling across various levels, including minor tests, pilots, or initial industrial scale-ups. Coordination with CQ Team: Ensure the safety, quality, and hygiene of any tests or experiments to prevent accidents and quality/safety incidents during normal process line operations. Continuous Improvement: Ensure each trial or test aligns with the efficiency goals of the production lines and continuously seek new technologies to optimize processes and develop better products in a cost-efficient manner. Resolve production issues related with formulation or new ingredients issues. Leadership: Apply leadership and influence skills to achieve successful coordination and resolution of issues or new developments with the production area. Requirements of the Position · Degree qualification in Chemistry/Pharmacy, or related field. · High-level written and spoken English for communication with plant areas. · 5 years of experience in production or operations, particularly in formula development or problem-solving, preferably in pharma plants. Experience with tablet, capsule, and packaging lines in the pharma industry is desirable. · Intermediate proficiency with MS Office and an ERP system (e.g., SAP or similar). · Soft skills: assertive communication, active listening, leadership, influence, teamwork, alignment.
