Job Title -Senior Project Engineer and Estimator Location - Midland, Texas, United States General Requirements: Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills required, with the ability to convey technical information. Strong leadership and team collaboration. Ability to troubleshoot and think critically in order to solve complex problems in a fast-paced environment. Capacity to deliver quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Work requires a willingness to work a flexible schedule. Ability to coordinate the bid solicitation process. Basic understanding of the following standards: ASME Section VIII Div. 1; ASME B31.1, B31.2, B31.3, B31.4 and B31.8; AISC Structural Code and AWS. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Petroleum, Civil or related) is required A minimum of 5 years of experience in project engineering or related field. Proficient in project management software, excel, and drafting design software (Autodesk, Cadworx, or Solidworks) with a strong understanding of engineering principles. General working knowledge of applicable governing codes. (ASME, API, ISO, etc). Must be proficient in Excel. Strong knowledge of Word and Outlook required. Knowledge of Compress (ASME Code) software. Duties and Responsibilities: Works on bids as small as $50,000 and as large as $10,000,000. Most commonly builds estimate packages for vessels, structural, and pipe. Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates. Performs base level ASME and API calculations for project evaluation. Performs risk assessment to help identify potential problems and creates a risk-handling plan. Reviews data and blueprints to determine material and labor requirements and prepares itemized lists of cost estimates. Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work, preparing bids. Consults with customers, subcontractors, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues. Assists project managers on bid follow-ups when required. Researches to obtain data on labor costs, materials, etc. Reviews offers and quotes from subcontractors and vendors. Develops detailed project plans, including scope, goals, deliverables, resource allocation, timelines, and budgets. Provides feedback to team members and facilitates communication throughout the project Works closely with operations, procurement, and sales team to ensure all aspects of the project are aligned and progressing smoothly. Provides engineering expertise and technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle. Maintains thorough documentation of project activities, including plans, designs, reports, and updates. Monitors project costs, budget, and reports on financial status. Ensures all project activities meet or exceed industry standards, regulations, and company quality guidelines. Addresses and resolves issues promptly, keeping all relevant parties informed. Prepares and presents comprehensive project reports, highlighting key performance indicators and project milestones. Ensures that the project is completed efficiently and on time. Monitors the execution of the customer’s project order, verifying execution of the project through kick-off meetings, communication to all parties and exchange of technical requirements and project plan information. Leads and monitors the progress of the customer’s estimates, RFQ timeline log, and everything related to pre-contract. Provides technical and administrative project management support during execution stage. Provides direction and mentorship to entry level engineers.
