Job Title: Senior Estimator – Residential Projects Location: Boston, MA Project Types: Residential, Multi-Family Compensation: Salary: Up to approximately $160K based on experience Benefits: Includes health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company matching, and the opportunity for performance-based bonuses. The Civi Group is collaborating with a prominent general contractor in Boston, renowned for their multi-family projects, to hire a Senior Estimator specializing in residential construction. In this role, the Senior Estimator will be responsible for daily estimating tasks for construction projects. Responsibilities include performing quantity take-offs, managing costs, communicating with construction teams and subcontractors, preparing RFPs, analyzing bids, and conducting field take-offs. The position requires frequent collaboration with project teams and active participation in RFP preparation and bid analysis. Key Responsibilities: Lead the estimation activities for all residential construction projects. Prepare cost projections covering labor, materials, and timelines based on project specifications and construction documents. Collaborate effectively with project team members. Create bid proposals and tender submissions in line with company standards and client expectations. Recognize potential cost risks and propose value engineering solutions when appropriate. Efficiently use industry-standard software for estimation tasks. Track and manage project costs and budgets throughout the project lifecycle. Manage project scoping, clarification, and pricing efforts. Maintain project lists and vendor database. Generate estimates through quantity take-offs and subcontractor/vendor quotes. Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings. Skills & Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Engineering, or Construction Management preferred. Minimum of 10 years of residential estimating experience. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints. Familiarity with tools such as Bluebeam, Buildertrend, Xactimate, and Procore is preferred but not required. Hands-on understanding of residential trades such as carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work is preferred but not required. Strong mathematical and computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. Understanding of construction practices, permitting processes, and city regulation.
