Position Description The Plant Manager is responsible for management, coaching, and developing all production employees, ensuring that daily production targets are met in a safe, efficient, and timely manner. This role focuses heavily on maintaining the day-to-day operations of the plant, overseeing labor resources, and ensuring safety and product quality. The Plant Manager will work closely with production teams to ensure smooth workflow and troubleshoot any issues that arise during production. The responsibilities of this position include evaluating production capacity, managing resources, identifying capital investment needs, establishing maintenance plans and optimizing production flow to maximize output from the factory. Essential Duties Manage and oversee all manufacturing operations, ensuring that production schedules are met while maintaining a safe and clean working environment. Accountable for all plant level KPI’s across Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity. Ensure proper staffing levels, training, and performance. In conjunction with Production Manager, address and resolve any personnel issues, including attendance, productivity, and behavior. Monitor and adjust labor and resources to meet production targets. Identify and resolve bottlenecks in the production process and maintain equipment readiness. Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including OSHA regulations and company policies. Promote a culture of safety and hold employees accountable for adhering to safety standards. Establish and maintain production processes that consistently achieve Garmat quality standards. Address production errors or defects promptly and implement corrective actions to avoid future issues. Quickly address and resolve issues that may disrupt the manufacturing process, including equipment malfunctions, staffing shortages, and safety concerns. Drive continuous improvement and expand on Garmat’s lean manufacturing implementation. Continue to train and develop production team members in lean daily management systems. Identify opportunities to improve process documentation and adherence to established production standards. Manage maintenance team and preventive maintenance activities to minimize unplanned equipment downtime. Ensure that raw materials, tools, and supplies are readily available on the production floor. Work with inventory teams to manage supply levels and avoid production delays. Maintain clear and open communication with production staff and upper management. Provide regular updates on production progress, employee performance, and any challenges faced. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (Degree in Manufacturing or related field is a plus). 10 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team. Solid understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment. Familiarity with safety regulations, including OSHA guidelines. Experience with lean manufacturing systems and concepts Ability to troubleshoot problems on the floor and work in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends, as necessary.
