We are partnering with a growing and reputable company to hire an HR Payroll Specialist . This is a critical role that blends expertise in payroll processing with essential human resources support. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable about compliance in payroll and HR practices. (Hybrid model: 3 days in-office, 2 days remote based on business needs) Core Duties: Payroll Management: Manage full-cycle payroll, including: Weekly timecard reviews and bi-weekly multi-state payroll processing. Accurate handling of payroll deductions, adjustments, and reporting. Ensure compliance with payroll regulations, including prevailing wage and certified payroll requirements. Process and manage 401(k) contributions, wage garnishments, and other payroll tasks. Perform audits related to workers' compensation, PTO, and 401(k). Respond promptly to payroll inquiries and provide resolutions. Compliance and Reporting: Stay updated on labor laws, prevailing wage regulations, and certified payroll requirements. Prepare and submit accurate certified payroll reports for public works projects. Monitor and ensure compliance with labor standards, including EEO and W-2 requirements. What We’re Looking For: Minimum 2 years of payroll processing experience , with knowledge of prevailing wages and certified payroll. Proficiency in payroll systems such as Paylocity , as well as Microsoft Office Suite . Strong understanding of California labor laws and federal wage regulations. Experience in the construction industry is highly preferred. Associate’s degree preferred; CPP or FPC certification is a plus Salary : up to 63,000/yr
