Salary Range: $55,000 - $75,000 What you’ll do? As a Field Test Technician your scope consists successfully managing in field testing projects for equipment improvements, new product releases, key account tests and early release installations to execute against internal and customer KPIs and clearly communicate in field learnings and user feedback to the Technical Product and Technical Sales teams. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for installation, monitoring, review and decommissioning of field test equipment; hardware and software updates to be executed on strict timelines in partnership with the Technical Product and Technical Sales team. Regularly visit testing sites on defined schedule for on site review of hardware / software performance and user experience review with focus on optimization of overall equipment performance and adherence to customer requirements. Manages consistent and timely updating of equipment in test (hardware and software) to ensure customer feedback is gathered utilizing current platform improvements. Executes in-field repairs of test equipment as needed or in partnership with locally trained service partners, acting as a first point of escalation for service partners if required. Provides analysis and reports of test units at defined intervals and after field visits to ensure equipment is meeting and exceeding expected KPIs in various testing environments and issues are addressed with correct priority levels. Provide collated reports describing ongoing test and field equipment failures, component and software issues to Technical Product Managers for escalation to appropriate quality teams at WMF, Schaerer and Curtis. Partners with Technical Product Managers for planning and executing of local lab testing related to customer feedback or found issues from field visits. Maintains a hybrid presence in Irvine or Montebello offices in regular intervals when not in field for feedback sessions, lab testing of identified equipment topics and equipment training with technical teams. Become SME for equipment, acting as a technical resource and final local escalation point for multiple departments within the greater organization regarding technical issues or requests. Support PSMs with technical training to Service, Support & Training teams. This will be part of a team that has strengths in all or a few of the primary skills. What you need to be successful in this role: Experience as a field technician or technical support agent, skilled with electrical / hydraulic / mechanical systems and troubleshooting. Technical certifications or similar experience welcome. 3 -5 years’ as a field technician, technical support agent or equivalent technical experience. Proven analytical troubleshooting skills for technical issues, experience communicating data analysis results and lab testing summaries. Ability to understand and utilize technical drawings for electrical and hydraulic systems for troubleshooting and repairs Ability to manage structured documentation and records for key interactions and observations while in field Experience in the Food and Beverage Equipment industry, coffee and/or hot dispensed beverages is a plus Technical fluency; comfort understanding and discussing technical concepts to mixed audiences Customer focused; An ability to grasp customer needs and identify and suggest solutions. Strong bias for action; ability to juggle multiple priorities and create a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Physical Requirements: Standing, Walking, and Manual Dexterity Ability to Lift up to 50lbs occasionally.
