Job Responsibilities: Supervise all Roadway/Highway operations in accordance with DOT, local and commercial specifications. Perform all routine project administration, coordination, scheduling, and on-site construction engineering activities. Manage all aspects of the operation including ordering of materials, logistics, maintenance, and outside services. Serve as direct liaison between field crews, subcontractors, foremen, and upper management. Work with the General Superintendent to stay updated on product knowledge and be informed of any changes. Lead staff of Foreman and coordinate between other crews, subs, and vendors. Maintain a work environment that is safe and continually kept clean and orderly. Create and foster a work environment that includes instilling a positive atmosphere, promoting proactive and effective communication, facilitating problem-solving and minimizing and resolving conflict in a constructive manner. Recruit, train, and retain crew members and foreman to ensure they are focused on safety, quality, and productivity. Read and implement architectural plans and specifications (application rates, grades, slope, drainage, etc.) Respond to internal and external requests and provide high quality support to customers and colleagues. Complete jobs within budget and on time. Perform other duties as assigned. Skills Needed: Minimum 2 years as a Superintendent and/or 8 years as a foreman. Ability to build effective teams, inspire others to their best, and to coach and mentor. Strong analytical ability, quantitative and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
