Locum Physician (MD/DO) - Gastroenterology in Washington

Job Title: Physician - Gastroenterologist Job Specialty: Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology Job Duration: 13 weeks, with potential for extension Shift: Day - 5x8 - 9am - 5pm (40 Hours per week) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Experience with complicated liver and GI cases is preferred License: Must be board-certified Certifications: - ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) - BLS (Basic Life Support) Must-Have: - Board Certification in Gastroenterology - Ability to perform and interpret Pill Cam studies - Experience with Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, cautery vs. laser, and injection of varices - Proficiency in Lower GI procedures, including sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy with biopsy and excision of polyps Job Description: - Provide GI clinic coverage, with potential for hybrid schedules including clinic and procedure shifts. - See 14-16 patients per day, dealing with complex cases and new referrals. - Collaborate with clinic staff, which includes a full-time provider and a PA-C. - Perform standard clinic responsibilities, such as pathology review, referrals, and consulting with PA when necessary. - Conduct in-clinic procedures, including but not limited to peg tube exchange, Hemoccult test, and lidocaine injections. - Nearest airport is approximately 90 miles southeast for travel convenience. - Lodging recommendations available upon request for those who require accommodation. - Estimated credentialing timeframe is 60-90 days, with expedited privileges for clean history candidates. - Trauma Level: 3 - PEDS Level: 3 This opportunity offers the chance to work in a supportive environment with the possibility for ongoing engagement.
