Qualifications • Legal secretarial or Paralegal Legal secretarial or Paralegal experience and/or training. (Required) And • U.S. Patent and foreign patent law, rules, and prosecution practices Experience and knowledge of U.S. Patent and foreign patent law, rules, and prosecution practices. (Required) And • iEdison Experience with iEdison, a system used for invention and patent reporting by US government agencies. (Preferred) • Demonstrated knowledge of Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other software, including advanced formatting and reviewing features to generate reports and other material to represent data in logical, concise, and effective formats. (Required) • Demonstrated skill in downloading and integrating information from multiple sources and in formatting technical information, including data represented graphically. (Required) • Demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, accurate, logical, and grammatically correct memos, letters, procedures, and reports. (Required) • Skill to accurately proofread and format correspondence, reports and other materials. Ability to check the accuracy of facts and substance of written material, including technical documents. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. (Required) • Demonstrated skill in maintaining accurate and complete records. Detail oriented with the ability to organize record keeping and information retrieval systems. (Required) • Skill in preparing presentations and in developing promotional and educational materials. (Required) • Skill in working with frequent interruptions and competing priorities. Ability to work effectively under pressure of deadlines and maintain a high level of productivity. Maintain confidentiality of information and records. (Required) • Demonstrated skill in communicating with a diverse constituency on the telephone, in writing and in person. Skill in developing effective working relationships with multiple offices. (Required) • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment to follow through on assignments with minimal direction and to independently prioritize work. (Required) • Oral communication skills to speak effectively on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, to engage in fact-finding, convey information, and clarify conceptual issues and policy matters with individuals at various organizational levels. (Required) • Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and interpret a wide variety of complex information, correspondence, and legal documents. Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices. (Required) • Demonstrated ability to exercise integrity and discretion in all matters and to protect confidential information dictated by assignment or policy; ability to use good judgment and sensitivity with regard to policy; and to identify and manage sensitive/confidential work duties with discretion.
