Certification Details BLS NRP Job Requirements 13 week contract BLS required Intro to Fetal Monitoring required NRP required must be able to circulate in OR Able to perform competency in normal newborn assessments and routine baby care Able to float to Postpartum occasionally RNs required to titrate drips Schedule Information Shifts & Scheduling - 0630-1900, 1830-0700 Self scheduling, can accommodate most schedule requests Every third weekend, could be up to every other based on unit need 1 major, 1 minor holiday requirement Floating Requirements - Will float to Postpartum, occasional float to the house to be a 'sitter' Unit Specific Information of L&D Beds: 16 labor rooms and 9 antepartum rooms of OR Suites on the unit for C-Sections: 3 of Triage beds: 7 bed triage unit of Postpartum beds: 36 of Births per day/month/year: Up to 400 per month Common diagnoses/Types of patients: High-risk OB and routine obstetric care Obix EFM System Orientation - 2-3 shifts of unit/department specific orientation Additional Details of L&D Beds: 16 labor rooms and 9 antepartum rooms of OR Suites on the unit for C-Sections: 3 of Triage beds: 7 bed triage unit of Postpartum beds: 36 of Births per day/month/year: Up to 400 per month Follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios Common diagnoses/Types of patients: High-risk OB and routine obstetric care Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, pain meds Charge Nurse on each shift Obix EFM System Attributes for success include teamwork, positive attitude, flexibility, eagerness to learn, openness to new challenges, and a great attitude
