Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Oncology Discipline: RN Start Date: 12/09/2024 Duration: 12 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Details Shift: Nights; Contracts available for 13 weeks up to March 15, 2025. Target Ratios: 1:6-7 RTO: Maximum of 7 days; No Christmas RTO. Options for 36 or 48 hours per week, with overtime applicable after 48 hours. Call Requirement: Call required if called off on a prescheduled shift. Float Requirement: Floating to similar units and alternate care locations as needed. Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required. Special Assignments: Participation in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team may be required during catastrophic events. Patient Diagnoses General medical-surgical diagnosis with a focus on chemotherapy/biotherapy administration (IV, PO, or injection). Common conditions include AKI, Sepsis, Cancer, Septic shock, Pain, OD, Malignant Neoplasms, ARF, Encephalopathy, FTT, Diabetic foot ulcers, Heparin drips. Required Skills and Certifications Minimum of 1 year of experience in an inpatient setting. Skills: Administration of chemotherapy, Med/Surg, Colostomy care, Accessing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Heparin, Insulin, Chemotherapy Administration, Monitoring Chemotherapy, Surgical drains, Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac. Certifications: Chemotherapy administration certification is required prior to start; BLS required. Preferred Skills and Certifications CPI certification. Charge nurse experience. OCN certification. Unit Systems Medication: PYXIS Documentation: EPIC Communication: SBAR Additional Information Attendance to monthly staff meetings is required. Unit orientation consists of 24 hours (2 shifts).
