Certification Details Chemotherapy administration certification is required prior to start; required to obtain prior to start Will accept travelers that do not currently have the ONC cert BLS required Preferred Certs: CPI, OCN Job Details Primarily Medical Surgical patients with Oncology history and occasional Chemotherapy administration Target Ratios: 1:6-7 Shift: NIGHTS Unit will accept contracts from 13 weeks up to March 15, 2025 RTO: 7 days MAX - NO CHRISTMAS RTO; 36 or 48 hours Call Requirement: Call required if called off on a prescheduled shift Float Requirement: Floating required to similar units and alternate care locations with inpatients holding such as inpatient holding in the ED Weekend Requirement: EVERY OTHER WEEKEND REQUIRED Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster Surgical drills, Chester tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac UNIT SYSTEMS: PYXIS, EPIC, SBAR UNIT ORIENTATION: 24 hrs (2 shifts) SCRUBS: Navy Blue and white Job Requirements Minimum Years of Experience: 1 year Traveler Experience: Will accept 1st time travelers Locals Accepted/Rate Difference: Yes Skills: Administer chemo, Experience in an inpatient setting, Med/Surg, Colostomy care, Accessing Ports, Blood Product Administration, Central line blood draw, Peripheral Line Care/Management, PICC line management, Heparin, Insulin, Chemotherapy Administration, Monitoring Chemotherapy, Surgical drains, Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac Certs: Chemotherapy administration certification required prior to start; BLS required Preferred Skills/Certs: CPI, Charge nurse experience, OCN Must pass EKG Testing prior to start for this specialty Schedule Information Shift: NIGHTS; Unit will accept contracts from 13 weeks up to March 15, 2025 RTO: 7 days MAX - NO CHRISTMAS RTO; 36 or 48 hours Call Requirement: Call required if called off on a prescheduled shift Weekend Requirement: EVERY OTHER WEEKEND REQUIRED Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team Contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed Shifts called out will need to have make up shifts rescheduled Unit Specific Information PATIENT DIAGNOSES: General medical-surgical diagnosis primary patient population Administration of chemotherapy/biotherapy -IV, PO, or injection AKI, Sepsis, Cancer, Septic shock, Pain, OD, Malignant Neoplasms, ARF, Encephalopathy, FTT, Diabetic foot ulcers, Heparin drips SPECIAL PROCEDURES/UNIT DETAILS: Daily Census 42 During times of increased census, typical ratios may be higher Contract staff will be assigned equally to the home unit staff to ensure that patients are covered with a registered nurse Like units includes floating to inpatient holding in the ED, or any alternate medical patient care location Additional Details Travel rate is available for local travelers if their start date is on or before 12/13 RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR WILL CERT FOR CHEMO
