Laboratory Manager

Position: Laboratory Manager (COLOR) Location: Greater Charlotte, NC Area Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Laboratory Manager to oversee and optimize our laboratory operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in laboratory techniques, a keen eye for process improvement, and exceptional leadership skills. This role presents an opportunity to contribute significantly to our research and development initiatives while driving operational excellence Responsibilities: Laboratory Operations: Manage and optimize daily laboratory operations, including resource allocation, equipment maintenance, and inventory control. Implement and maintain robust quality control procedures and documentation aligned with industry standards (ISO, ASTM, etc.). Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations. Team Leadership: Oversee and mentor a team of laboratory technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment. Recruit, hire, and develop laboratory personnel. Assign tasks, set priorities, and monitor performance. Research and Development: Collaborate with R&D teams to support new product development initiatives. Analyze and interpret laboratory data to identify trends, opportunities, and potential solutions. Contribute to the development and execution of research projects. Project Management: Manage multiple laboratory projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project goals. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success. Quality Control: Develop and implement quality control plans and procedures. Oversee quality control testing and analysis. Investigate and resolve quality issues. Regulatory Compliance: Assist with the Global TDS project (2024). Become familiar with regulations applicable to the plastics industry. Assist with entry-level regulatory tasks and questions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or industry related work experience. Minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience, including supervisory responsibilities. Strong understanding of laboratory techniques and equipment. Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting. Knowledge of quality control methodologies and statistical process control. Desired Qualifications Experience in the Chemicals/Plastics industry. Knowledge of CGMP standards. Previous experience in analyzing data related to the plastics industry.
