Technical Manager LHH is recruiting for a well-known chemical manufacturing company that’s looking for a Technical Manager. This position supports their consumer products division. We are seeking someone who has experience within the food processing industry and has a well-rounded understanding of defoamers. This role will be focused on product knowledge and new product development. The position is on-site in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities Oversee and approve all product sample activities, including reviewing, screening, and approving shipments. Coordinate and assist with the preparation and presentation of regulatory information in technical literature and reports. Manage technical staff and serve as the main liaison for external communications between production, operations, and regulatory teams. Evaluate and provide opinions on the feasibility, status, and value of product development activities, and update project statuses on the Product Development Tracking website. Conduct on-site and laboratory testing to support customers and business development efforts, including new process applications and product development. Develop service plans for strategic customers and the technical components of new business development plans. Manage the field laboratory, chemical feed equipment, and procure additional equipment and supplies as needed. Respond to customer technical inquiries and coordinate responses with sales representatives as needed. Ensure the accuracy and format of technical data reported in TDS and SDS, and enhance the content and presentation of technical literature. Provide reference documents and training for sales teams as required. Conduct plant surveys and trials to support customers and business development efforts. Required Experience and Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment; experience in food processing is desirable. Proven leadership skills with 2-5 years of management experience. 2-5 years of field experience. Proficiency in MS Office software and business software such as SAP. Bachelor’s degree (preferred, not required) Technical understanding of chemistry and chemical properties relevant to customer needs and the current business portfolio; knowledge of food safety and regulatory requirements is desirable. Strong communication skills for both casual and formal technical reporting. Proven problem-solving skills, with the ability to address and focus on underlying issues.
