We are assisting our client in the search for an Estimator to work 1st shift in Santa Ana, CA. Prefer candidates from construction and/or manufacturing industries. $25/hr This is a Direct Hire position Role Overview: The Estimator plays a crucial role in project planning by determining timelines, labor requirements, material needs, and budget risks. Utilizing advanced software, the Estimator assesses production possibilities and compiles routers for part construction once a project is secured. This position requires making informed predictions about the manufacturing process of parts or systems. Key Responsibilities: Analyze requirement documents, blueprints, and project plans to fully understand project specifications. Identify key variables that impact cost estimates and other project metrics. Collect firsthand information from suppliers and departments relevant to the project. Conduct research to gather data on labor costs, materials, and production timelines. Utilize software for generating quotes and necessary routers. Review offers and quotes from subcontractors and vendors. Prepare and submit estimate reports or bids to project managers, clients, and bidding competitions. Build and maintain relationships with key vendors, including subcontractors, suppliers, and engineers. Provide consultation on planning aspects such as schedules and manpower needs. Develop estimate options based on engineering inputs. Requirements and Skills: Minimum of 5 years of experience as an estimator. Familiarity with financial and project management principles. In-depth knowledge of research, data analysis methods, and estimation formulas. Strong mathematical and IT skills with an analytical mindset. Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., Globalshop). Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Attention to detail and reliability. Strong organizational skills. High School Diploma required; a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is beneficial. Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) designation is a plus.
