Degesch America, Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Office Assistant to work closely with the Division Manager and Operations Coordinator in various administrative tasks related to manufacturing, inventory control, and promoting a positive culture within the company. DEGESCH America, Inc. (DAI) was founded in 1977 and is the United States arm of German based Detia Degesch Group. Our corporate headquarters and production facility are situated in the Shenandoah Valley town of Weyers Cave, Virginia. This facility opened on March 15, 1979, and is the only producer of aluminum phosphide (Phostoxin®) and magnesium phosphide (Magtoxin®) fumigants in the United States. Through our nationwide network of Sales and Service Offices we provide a wide range of fumigants, insecticides, rodenticides, grain protectants, safety equipment and training to companies handling raw agricultural commodities and finished food products. Positions Summary Responsible for various administrative and clerical duties needed to efficiently run a Division Office. Support the company operations while ensuring office systems are operable. Essential Job Functions: Maintain organized office operations and procedures to ensure effectiveness and efficiency Tracks incoming sales into online portal, and communicate new leads to management Prepare outbound shipments. Prepares all required fumigation paperwork, fumigation certificates, and reviews post fumigation paperwork for completeness. Assists with preparation of expense reports. Assists with the hiring of laborers and facilitates the completion and timely submission of new hire paperwork. Assists with new employee onboarding, including receiving online safety training Orders supplies as needed for all business purposes. Takes and processes orders and shipments and provides customer service. Receive deliveries and prepare shipment documents. Sets up and coordinates meetings and conferences Job Requirements: Must be able to disseminate accurate information to customers upon request. Responsible for maintaining customer relations. Assist with billing when needed. Performs other duties as assigned or directed. Qualifications and Education: Requires a minimum of 2 - 4 years of office, administrative or clerical experience. Must have knowledge of general office procedures. Requires good skills in math and writing. Requires excellent communication and organization skills. Must have an attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Must have working knowledge of computers and software programs (Windows, Office, Internet, etc.) Physical Requirements Must be able to sit for long periods of time May be required to lift up to 20 pounds. May require walking, standing, and/or bending. Requires repetitive motion of the wrists, hands and/or fingers. Must be able to visually inspect documents and operate office machines. This is an in-office position, not remote/hybrid.
