Description $500 Sign-on Bonus Options for Community Living, Inc. is looking for a Diversity, Equity/Engagement, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Manager to join our team An ideal candidate should meet the following requirements: Bachelor's degree in related field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of two years of experience in a leadership role. Must have experience in diversity related programs or committees, trainings and/or hold relevant certifications. Deep understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging principles and best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong project management and organizational abilities. Must have knowledge with the Microsoft Office suite of applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Canva. Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations. Must be available to travel to sites throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties, including, but not limited to, the Hempstead and Amityville offices and the community residences. Must be available to attend industry events on evenings and weekends as needs arise. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred. Commitment to the mission and values of Options for Community Living. Salary offers will be commensurate with experience and other qualifications. Schedule: Monday - Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Location: In-person based out of our Ronkonkoma office. Must be available to travel to sites throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties, including, but not limited to, the Hempstead and Amityville offices and the community residences. Pay Type: Exempt Responsibilities: The Manager of Diversity, Equity/Engagement, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) will lead and drive our organization's efforts in fostering a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. The DEIB Manager will work closely with leadership, employees, program participants, and external partners to implement and advance DEIB and employee engagement initiatives that align with our mission. Serve as an active member of the management team. Develop and implement a comprehensive DEIB strategy that aligns with the organization's mission and values and discusses the intent to serve marginalized/underserved populations in a culturally responsive method. Serve as the co-chair of the Options ENGAGE committee to assist with employee engagement and retention. Establish and maintain a calendar of culturally diverse events, holidays, and recognition dates to use as an organizational education tool. Conduct research and benchmarking to identify best practices and trends in DEIB and collaborate with leadership to integrate DEIB principles into strategic planning and decision-making processes. Design and deliver DEIB training programs for employees, board members, and program participants to increase cultural competency and awareness of diversity issues. Design and develop strategies and activities to engage and retain staff. Provide resources and support to promote continuous learning and development related to DEIB. Work collaboratively with the HR department to develop and implement strategies to attract and retain a diverse workforce at all levels, including supervisor and management positions. Review and update recruitment processes to eliminate bias and promote equity. Foster an inclusive workplace culture that values and respects the contributions of all individuals. Promote open communication, active listening, and conflict resolution to create a harmonious environment. Obtain feedback from program participants and ensure equitable policies and practices in the provision of services to program participants. Review and update organizational policies and procedures through an equity lens. Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Collect and analyze data and track outcomes related to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging, including staff demographics and satisfaction surveys. Coordinate/lead efforts to ensure the incorporation of feedback from staff, board members, and program participants. Regularly report on progress and key metrics to leadership and stakeholders. Collaborate with local community organizations and advocacy groups to understand and address the unique needs and concerns of our residents and the communities we serve. Co-chair the DEIB Committee. Research and promote committee educational opportunities to ensure that DEIB are centered in the planning. Launch public awareness campaigns to reduce stigma and promote understanding of mental health, HIV/AIDS, homelessness, and chronic medical conditions. Participate in local and statewide initiatives such as Lobbying Day, Point in Time Count, and statewide trainings/conferences. Other duties as assigned.
