Maintenance Electrician Job Description Perform maintenance with an emphasis on electrical work in all areas of the plant on a scheduled or emergency basis. The role involves mechanical repairs on pumps, valves, and heat exchangers, as well as electrical repairs on motors and motor starters. Additionally, you will be responsible for running conduit and pulling wires for new installations, building repairs, and cleaning. Responsibilities Move, set, and calibrate controls such as knobs, valves, switches, levers, and index arms on control panels to manage process variables like flows, temperatures, pressures, vacuum, time, and chemicals. Determine malfunctioning units by observing control instruments such as meters and gauges or by automatic warning signals like lights and horns. Inspect equipment to determine the location and nature of malfunctions such as leaks, breakages, and faulty valves. Communicate directly with production to coordinate maintenance and repair work. Patrol units to verify safe and efficient operating conditions. Perform preventive maintenance activities as required. Essential Skills Electrical maintenance experience Mechanical repair skills Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics Proficiency in welding (MIG/Stick/ARC preferred) Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Experience with industrial electrical systems, especially 480-volt systems Ability to work with wiring and installations Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with screw conveyors, drag conveyors, and bucket elevators Knowledge of maintaining bearings, gearboxes, and corn flakers (corn grinders) Experience in maintaining boiler and steam systems Basic mobile equipment maintenance About Aerotek: We know that finding work is hard, and finding meaningful work is harder.
