Key Responsibilities: Market Analysis: Stay updated with market trends, commodity prices, and supplier capabilities to make informed purchasing decisions. Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure advantageous terms and agreements. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers. Cost Optimization: Implement cost-effective purchasing strategies without compromising quality and reliability. Continuously seek opportunities to reduce procurement costs. Contract Negotiation: Draft and negotiate contracts, ensuring favorable terms and conditions. Monitor contract performance to ensure compliance. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure purchased commodities meet the required standards and specifications. Inventory Management: Work closely with inventory management teams to maintain optimal stock levels and prevent shortages or overstock situations. Risk Management: Proactively identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions. Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, company policies, and ethical standards in all procurement activities. Reporting: Generate regular reports on procurement metrics, cost savings, supplier performance, and market trends. Analyze data to make data-driven decisions. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus. Proven experience as a Commodity Buyer or in a similar procurement role, preferably in the [specific industry or sector]. Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
